Something about a story that combines high-stakes danger with undeniable love makes it impossible to put down. That's exactly what this book gives me—an exciting, fast-paced adventure that grabs me from the first page. There is just the right amount of tension and romance in every scene, making it extremely exciting and emotional. When I think I know where things are going, there is a twist that sends everything in a different way.
What I love most about it is how deeply emotional the action is. The leads have obvious chemistry, but it's not just about attraction. It's also about trust, survival, and the weak spots that people hide behind tough exteriors. The conversation is full of life, and the push and pull between them feels real, full of past and fears that aren't being spoken. Ms Pek’s use of voice of both characters gives fine command of the eroticism throughout, weaving a perfect balance of sexual arousal, passion and emotional depth. Conflict looms large as the plot moves in and around Katya and Jacob, keeping the book true to the thriller aspects.

I was immediately hooked by the first person narrative from each of the main characters points of view. The detailed descriptions create a visceral experience of their passion and journey. A thriller is not something that I usually gravitate towards when searching for a book. I have to confess, when I started on this one, I could not put it down. The characters are robust and believable. The story is hot. There is an element of advocacy for the environment and for finding the truth.
